Linen Department Assistant (LDA)

Our linen and rental processing teams are ALWAYS looking for good people to be Linen Department Assistants (LDA) to help with processing and with the daily tasks that keep the department running smoothly.  If you are the type that can learn anything (and learn it well), then this position might be for you.

What you NEED to know!

As an assistant in the Linen Department, you will work both in our linen processing room and in the warehouse facility (same location).

You will spend your time processing incoming and outgoing linens mostly but if needed also process tableware, concession and games.

Lifting is a part of this position to handle bagged linens, concession equipment and dishware.

There is also room for growth for the right person! Which means learning multiple job duties and helping where help is needed.

Who is RIGHT for this position?

This job is perfect for a reliable person with good common sense, the ability to multi task AND who has the desire to take initiative.

This position will be great for anyone who does not want to sit at a desk all day. Anyone who has good time management skills and does not need constant supervision.

Duties you can expect
  • Assist with cleaning for work / processing areas
  • Washing linens in commercial washers, ensuring that machines are appropriately filled and kept running
  • Steaming products as necessary with hand steamers
  • Working the linen press with the team, assisting to ensure that linens are properly pressed
  • Cleaning and putting up concession equipment
  • Washing dishware and assisting with labelling properly and putting up
  • General cleaning
  • Possibly checking in linens and reporting any issues

Reading Comprehension Skills: LDA's will need to have excellent reading comprehension skills. You must be able to read and understand the information on customer orders and load sheets so as to properly determine any issues with returned items.

Active Listening Skills: LDA's should have good listening skills in order to follow directions given to them by Management.

Organizational Skills: LDA's should be highly organized in order to maximize their efficiency.

Prioritization Skills: LDA's will have multiple responsibilities over the course of a day. This means they must be able to prioritize their workload based on any time restraints and the most efficient way to accomplish their tasks.
